CONSULTANCY

Framlingham Fisheries Consultancy is an arm of one of the most successful fishery firms in the United Kingdom.

While analysing your fishery needs, we aim not only to offer a comprehensive assessment of the site, but also to advise you constructively on how improvements can be made, or if required, to make it more commercially viable.

Framlingham Fisheries manage some of the most expensive and successful season ticket waters in this country along with two of Europe¹s premier carp fisheries, where we pioneered the start of European trips.
In Europe our fisheries in France have been in operation for 14 years. The fishing alone justifies a cost of £60 a day per person.

Consultant with all the right experience.
Our Consultant, Chris Vickers BSc, MIFM, has the scientific background and practical experience to provide advice on all aspects of fishery development. He can provide a thorough service, with a site visit, a report and can continue to offer advice over the telephone.

So what will he do?
A visit to the water or fishery is essential. Chris will carry out an in-depth site inspection, if necessary take water samples for analysis, discuss with any interested people the fishery¹s catch data and any other relevant information and from this practical survey, produce within two weeks, a report dealing with subjects such as:

How to create a successful fishery starting from scratch with a field, or by using an  existing under-exploited water.

  • The ideal species of fish to introduce, the number needed, how to encourage production, enhance spawning and to improve the survival chances of fry.
  • Improvements to the surroundings, tree planting, current vegetation and planting of any aquatic plants
  • How to improve bed fertility, prevent silt build up or how to break it down.
  • Problem solving by dealing with weed, removing silt, coping with predators and other problems which affect established fisheries.
  • Advising how to make your fishery more financially viable.
  • Future management of the site - by identifying the requirements that the fishery is intended to satisfy and shaping a plan to reach them.
